En klasse av fosfor forbindelser produsert av reaksjonen av enten anhydrous, ammoniakk eller kalium hydroxide med pyrophosphoric acid (H4P2O7). Pyrophosphoric acid er en kondens produktet av to molekyler av orthophosphoric syre (H3PO4). Viktigste polyphosphate arter i polyphosphate gjødsel.
