A professional who supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in operating word processing equipment to prepare correspondence, records, reports, insurance policies, and similar items. Responsibilities include:

  • Advises other departmental personnel in techniques and style of dictation and letter writing.
  • Recommends changes in procedures to effect savings in time, labor and other costs, and to improve operating efficiency.
  • Assigns new workers to experienced workers for training.
  • Assists subordinates in resolving problems in nonstandard situations.
  • Evaluates job performance of subordinates and recommends appropriate personnel action.
  • Performs duties as described under supervisor master title.
