(1) The process by which, when an APPC connection is established between two CICS systems (or reestablished after failure), the name of the system log currently in use on each system is passed to the partner. The exchange log name process affects only synclevel 2 conversations. It is used to detect the situation where a failed CICS has been communicating with a partner that is waiting to perform session recovery, and is restarted using a different system log. (2) A process used when sessions are first established to determine which log is being used by the remote system.
