A business service operation describes a business function and includes the business service object definitions that are required when the operation is invoked. A business service operation also describes the business service object definitions that result from completing the business service operation. For example, a Product Search business service operation requires a Product name (a business service object definition) and returns a Product business service object definition. Business service operations can be added to process diagrams as non-editable services.
